"Hello Friend" 11"x 24" collage/mixed media on newsprint
This piece began as a sketch I worked on while on vacation. I was inspired by a wonderful picture of a butterfly that I had seen on Facebook. I knew that the sketch was destined for more than just a page in the sketchpad but it was six months before a suitable place for her emerged. The face in the foreground, the hand, and butterfly are original pencil on paper. The rest of the piece consists of found images, acrylic, and ink on newsprint.
